Refunds & cancellations
Last updated: 4 August 2025. These rules apply to paid consultations with Westmere Financial Planning.
Eligibility overview
Discovery calls are free and carry no refund mechanics. Paid consultations may be cancelled or refunded according to how much work has already started.
Timeframe for cancellation
You may cancel a booked meeting up to 48 hours before the scheduled start for a full refund of fees paid for that meeting, provided we have not yet begun substantive document review beyond an initial scan.
Full refunds
A full refund applies if we cancel a meeting and cannot offer a suitable alternative within 14 days, or if you cancel within the 48-hour window before work has started.
Partial refunds
If document review or modelling has begun but the written plan is not yet delivered, we may retain a portion of the fee reflecting work completed — typically up to 40% of the engagement fee — and refund the balance. Exact figures are confirmed in writing.
Non-refundable items
Fees for work already delivered in writing (completed plans or review summaries) are non-refundable. Third-party charges such as solicitor fees are outside our refund process.
Deposits
Where a deposit was taken to reserve a retirement income planning slot, it is credited toward the final invoice. Deposits become non-refundable once document review has started, unless we cancel the engagement.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule once without charge if you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Later changes may incur an administrative fee of £50 to cover rearranged preparation time.
No-shows
If you miss a scheduled meeting without notice, we may charge for the reserved time or apply the deposit against that cost before offering a new date.
Work already started
Once cashflow modelling or holdings analysis is underway, cancellation converts to a partial-refund assessment as described above.
Refund process and timing
Email hello@distributed-applications.digital with your name, invoice reference, and reason. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 working days.
Exceptions
If illness or bereavement prevents attendance, contact us; we will usually waive rescheduling fees and extend the cancellation window where reasonable.
